Jusuf Kallas' leadership style

Muhammad  Jusuf Kalla was a vice president of Indonesia in 2004 to 2009. He was born in Bone, south Sulawesi, 15 may 1942. He is a Buginese and Muslim. People usually call him JK (Jusuf Kalla).  I like him because he has many experiences in leading. He is not only active in politics or government but also in business. Besides that, he also cares with society where he lives.
Jusuf Kalla had experience in organization when he was in university. He was a chairman of HMI (Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam) Makassar department in 1965-1966. He was also a chairman of university student  council of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) in 1965-1966, and he was also a chief presidium of Unity Action of Indonesian Student (KAMI) in 1967-1969. This is a proof that he is an activist who has power and good winning performance.
Jusuf Kalla graduated from Hasanuddin University in Economic Department in 1967. He also studied in The European Institute of Business Administration in France and graduated in 1977.
He has many experiences in government. He was a chairman of Golkar party in 2004-2009. And he allied with Wiranto, Hanura party in president sorting in 2009. Jusuf Kalla took hold of ministry in Abdurrahman Wahid era, fourth president.  And he was also installed as coordinator ministry of citizenry prosperity by Megawati  Sukarnoputri, fifth president. When Susilo Bambang Yudoyono win the position as a president, thus Jusuf Kalla automatically became the vice-president. It was the biggest democracy election in Indonesia.
The work of Kalla Group is a Kallas’ family business that has some companies group in some industry departments. In 1968, Jusuf Kalla became CEO of NV Hadji Kalla. Under his leading, NV Hadji Kalla grows from export-import business to hotels, construction, vehicle sell, ships, real estate, transportation, shrimp husbandry, palm oil, and communication. It is really amazing that he is really brilliant in leading many kind of business.
Now, pass through the national deliberative council of Palang Merah Indonesia XIX, Jusuf Kalla is elected again as chairman of Palang Merah Indonesia 2009-2014.
Jusuf Kalla sometimes shares his knowledge on leadership in business, government and in the field of conflict resolution in the younger generation. This is not designed as a crisis of leadership but rather to anticipate the challenges ahead, especially Indonesia prepare the young generation. It means that he cares about this country by giving lecture to students and people on leadership.
Jusuf Kalla has a unique leadership style assessed. He is a figure that is fast, responsive, risk-taking, humorous, and innovative. From many experiences that Jusuf Kalla has, I think that he has two types of leadership, they are autocratic and democratic. I think so because he leads Government of Indonesia which takes democratic choice with reference to anyone. Beside that he also leads his companies by autocratic as a best choice in leading.
He encourages decision making from different perspectives. His leadership may be emphasised throughout the organisation consultative that the process of consultation before decisions are taken persuasive, and he takes decision and seeks to persuade others that the decision is correct.
But when he leads his own companies, he does not need any references from anyone but he makes his own decisions. In this case, he has high degree of dependency on the leader. He can create de-motivation and alienation of staff and makes quickly and decisively in his decision when he does business.
